About Me

My name is Hira Babar and I am a December 2018 Master's Graduate in international affairs focusing on governance and rights. I graduated with my bachelors from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Political Science concentrating in international relations in 2016. My experience is in community engagement, project management, and public policy. I aspire to open my own nonprofit one-day that focuses on women and families that have suffered hardships acclimate into a normal pattern of life through education, work programs, and therapy.

I chose to do social responsibility and consumers because I constantly buy “socially responsible products” or donate to social causes at the register in stores. I was curious to learn if my money from the product proceeds was actually going to the social cause or nonprofit but never had a platform to do it. The Best and Worst Practice Studio at the New School gave me the opportunity. I decided to do it from a consumer standpoint and not student standpoint because this information would be accessible for anyone to replicate with other companies of their choice.
